What dancing can add to your week

Learn to dance, meet people and add something social, active and enjoyable to your week.

Latin Roots gives you a real skill to build, more movement without another workout, a natural way to meet people in person and a reason to get out of the same work-home-sofa routine.

Change the routine

Give yourself an evening that feels social, active and genuinely different from work, the gym and another night at home.

Learn a skill you can actually use

Go from “I can't dance” to understanding rhythm, movement and how to dance Salsa and Bachata with another person.

Meet people naturally

Classes and socials create repeated, easy chances to talk, dance, make friends and become part of a real in-person community.

Move more without forcing yourself to exercise

You are listening to music, learning and dancing with people. The movement happens because you actually want to be there.

Built for people starting from zero

Clear, structured teaching so you know what you are doing and why.

Salsa is lively and playful. Bachata is smoother and more relaxed. In both, we break the rhythm, movement and partnerwork down step by step so you can build confidence instead of feeling lost trying to keep up.

Come solo

You do not need to bring a partner.

People rotate in class, so coming on your own is completely normal and you get to dance with different classmates.

Start from zero

Rhythm is something we teach.

You are not expected to arrive coordinated. We break the music and movement down and build it step by step.

Feel guided

No being thrown in and hoping you somehow catch up.

Our teaching follows a structured progression. If you have tried dance before and felt lost, this is designed to give you clearer foundations and a path forward.

A real look inside Latin Roots. Press play to see the people, teaching and atmosphere.

You are not expected to arrive confident

You do not need to know how to dance before you arrive.

Most people start with no experience and plenty of nerves. We teach from the very beginning, step by step, so you can relax, follow along and understand what you are doing.

What the Try is for

Try Latin Roots first. Then decide if you want to join the 4-week Beginner Course.

This is not designed as a one-off dance activity. It is a low-pressure first step for complete beginners who are considering learning with us regularly. We will get you moving, let you experience the teaching and show you what joining the course would look like.

Start moving to the music

We’ll show you a few simple basics so you can experience what it feels like to learn from zero.

See how we teach

Experience the clear guidance, structure and atmosphere before you decide whether to commit to the course.

Choose your next step

If you like it, reserve your place on the next 4-week Beginner Course. During the new-course week, you can start that same evening.

And if you love it?

At first it is a course. Then dancing can become part of your life.

A skill you are proud of. Familiar faces when you walk into the room. Music you understand differently. New friendships, weekly socials and something you genuinely look forward to.

1

Start

Come in as a complete beginner and learn without needing to “be a dancer” first.

2

Progress

Build timing, movement, connection and partnerwork through structured weekly training.

3

Belong

Recognise faces, make friends naturally and become part of a real in-person community.

4

Dance socially

Use what you learn at our weekly Sunday Latin Roots Social and grow more confident dancing with different people.

Built for busy adults

Three beginner evenings every week means your schedule does not have to be perfect.

Beginner training runs on Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday. Choose the evening that normally works best for you, and if work, shifts or plans change, move your training to another beginner evening that week.

Three chances to train every week

Tuesday Wednesday Sunday

Pick a regular home evening. Keep two other beginner evenings in your back pocket when life gets in the way.

Most people begin with one evening a week. If you want more practice, faster progress and more time around the community, the 3-day option lets you train Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday.

The things people worry about before their first class

Chances are, someone else in the room has worried about the same thing.

I have never danced before. Will I be behind?

No. This route is specifically for complete beginners. You are not expected to know steps, timing, technique or how to move before you arrive.

Do I need a partner?

No. You can come on your own. Many people do. We rotate partners so everyone gets to practise and nobody needs to bring someone with them.

What if I have two left feet or no rhythm?

That is exactly why we start from zero. Rhythm, timing and movement are things we teach rather than things you are expected to arrive with.

I tried dance classes before and felt lost. Is this different?

Our beginner training is structured and progressive. We explain the rhythm, movement and partnerwork step by step so you understand what you are doing and have a clear path to build on.

Will it be awkward coming alone?

You will not be the only person arriving on your own. Classes give you an easy, natural way to meet people because everyone is learning and rotating together.

Is this like Zumba or a workout class?

No. Salsa and Bachata are social partner dances. You will move, but the purpose is to learn a skill you can use with other people, not to follow a fitness routine.

Am I too old or not fit enough to start?

You do not need to arrive fit, confident or experienced. This is adult beginner training for regular people, and the first step is simply learning the rhythm and movement at a manageable pace.

Is the Try just a one-off activity?

The Try is designed for complete beginners who are considering joining our 4-week Salsa & Bachata Beginner Course. It lets you experience the teaching and atmosphere before you decide.

Does the £5 start a course or membership?

No. The £5 reserves your Try Session only. If you choose to join the 4-week Beginner Course, we credit the full £5 towards the course price.

What happens if I enjoy the Try Session?

We will show you how to join the next 4-week Salsa & Bachata Beginner Course. During the new-course week, you can start that same evening. At a pre-course Sunday Try, you can reserve your place for the upcoming course. New beginners start in Week 1 only.

What if my work schedule changes?

Beginner training runs on Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday. Choose the evening that normally suits you best. If work, shifts or plans change, you can move your training to another beginner evening that week. There is also a 3-day option if you want to train more often from the start.

Do you have somewhere to practise and meet people outside class?

Yes. Latin Roots runs a weekly Sunday Salsa & Bachata social where students can use what they are learning, dance with different people and spend more time with the community.

Can I move my Try Session if something comes up?

Your £5 booking reserves your place and is non-refundable if you do not attend. If you contact us before the session, we can move your booking once to another available Try Session.

What should I wear?

Wear comfortable clothes and flat shoes you can move in. You do not need specialist dance shoes to start.
