Classes, music, people, socials — this is what you are stepping into.
Your beginner course is the first step into a wider academy experience built around movement, confidence, connection, and community.
Start with the group from week one.
Our beginner courses run in 4-week blocks so new students start together. That means you are not walking into the middle of a class or trying to catch up with people who already know the steps.
Choose your course day, book your place, and we will guide you from there.
You do not need to feel confident before you start.
Confidence is what you build through the course. You do not need experience, rhythm, a partner, or any idea what you are doing before you arrive.
What you’ll build in 4 weeks.
The course gives you a clear foundation in both Salsa and Bachata, with enough structure to feel guided and enough repetition to start feeling the music, the movement, and the connection.
Easy to reach. Right in the heart of Edinburgh.

Hear from students who started where you are.
Many of our students began with no partner, no experience, and the same nerves most beginners feel before their first class. Their stories show what can happen when you have the right guidance, the right environment, and a community around you.
A place to learn, train, connect, and grow.
Many students come for the course. They stay because Latin Roots becomes part of their week — a place to train, meet people, build confidence, and feel connected to something real.
What happens after your beginner course?
After the 4 weeks, you will have a stronger foundation in Salsa and Bachata and a clearer sense of how you want to continue.
Many students carry on into the wider Latin Roots academy pathway through memberships, regular classes, and social dancing. We will guide you honestly on the best next step based on your confidence, consistency, and development.
